Florida Hospital is expanding its sponsorship of the Tampa Bay Lightning, becoming one of the team's five largest corporate sponsors.
The Lightning on Wednesday announced the expansion and renewal of the Florida Hospital sponsorship. The hospital was previously one of the team's "preferred partners"; now, in addition to stepping up its sponsorship, it is also the 25th anniversary season presenting sponsor as well as an official health and wellness provider.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The four other championship sponsors are Dex Imaging, Chase, Spectrum and the Tampa Bay Times.
As part of the sponsorship, Florida Hospital will take over the southwest quadrant or “quad” in the arena — around 4,000 square feet of space for branding and entertaining with food and beverages.
"The hospital will be installing an interactive area throughout the season, and will leverage technology in the quadrant to reach thousands of fans in a new, fresh and cutting edge way," the Lightning said in a news release.
The quad Florida Hospital is taking over was previously occupied by Laser Spine Institute.
"Our organizations share a similar value of giving back to the community," hospital CEO Mike Schultz said in a statement, "and the opportunity to be one of the elite sponsors for the Tampa Bay Lightning came at a time when the hospital was well-positioned to strengthen its storied partnership and help support the inspired vision that Lightning team owner Jeff Vinik has for downtown Tampa."
